(hereinafter referred to as "the Company") establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of privacy information for the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as "the Services"). This Policy is provided in Japanese as the original, with the English version offered for reference purposes only.
Article 1 (Privacy Information)
Among privacy information, "personal information" refers to "personal information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, which refers to information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual through details such as his/her name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, and other descriptions included in the information.
"History and characteristics information" refers to information other than the "personal information" defined above and includes records of the services used, products purchased, pages and advertisements viewed, search keywords, date and time of use, usage method, usage environment, postal code, gender, occupation, age, IP address, cookie information, location information, and device identification information etc.
Article 2 (Methods of Collecting Privacy Information)
The Company may ask for personal information such as the name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, and credit card number etc. when a user purchases products. In addition, transaction records, including personal information of the users, and payment-related information, resulting from transactions between the users and our business partners etc. may be collected from our business partners (including information providers, advertisers, and advertisement distributors etc., hereinafter referred to as "partners").
The Company collects history and characteristics information, such as the products purchased, pages and advertisements viewed, search keywords, date and time of use, usage method, usage environment (including the communication status of the device when using mobile devices and the setting information at the time of use), IP address, cookie information, location information, and device identification information etc. when users use the Company’s services or those of partners’ or view the Company’s or partners’ pages.
Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)
The purposes for which the Company collects and uses personal information are as follows:
(1) To display information such as registered information (the name, address, contact details, payment methods, etc.), the services used, products purchased, and the corresponding fees etc., to allow users to view or modify their registered information and to view usage status;
(2) To use contact information such as the name, email and address etc. to send notifications or products to the users or to contact them when necessary;
(3) To verify the identity of the users by using information such as the name, date of birth, address, telephone number, bank account number, credit card number, and registered mail delivery confirmation results etc.;
(4) To bill the users by using information such as the name and quantity of purchased products, types of the services used and periods of use, number of uses, billing amounts, name, address, and payment-related information such as bank account numbers or credit card numbers etc.;
(5) To display information already registered with the Company on the input screen to facilitate users’ data entry or transfer information to other services etc. (including those provided by partners) based on users' instructions;
(6) To refuse service provision to the users who violate the Services terms of use, such as by delaying payment due or causing harm to third parties etc., or those who attempt to use the Services, for fraudulent or improper purposes, by using information such as a user’s behavior, name, and address to identify such individual;
(7) To use information such as the contact details, usage status, details of inquiries, and billing information etc. that are necessary for providing the Services to the users for the purpose of responding to inquiries from the users; and
(8) For those purposes related to the purposes above.
Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent from the user, except in the following cases or as permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws and regulations:
(1) When required by laws and regulations;
(2) When it is necessary for the protection of a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the user's consent;
(3) When it is particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the user's consent;
(4) When it is necessary to cooperate with government agencies, local authorities, or their agents in carrying out duties prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the user's consent could hinder the execution of those duties;
(5) When the following has been previously notified or publicly announced:
Including the provision to third parties in the purpose of use;
The items of data to be provided to third parties;
The means or method of such provision to third parties; and
Ceasing the provision of personal information to third parties at the request of the user.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the following cases do not constitute third party disclosure:
(1) When the Company outsources the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use;
(2) When personal information is provided as part of a business succession due to a merger or other reasons; and
(3) When personal information is to be used jointly with a specific party/ies, and the user has been notified in advance of the items of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of the party/ies with which the information will be jointly used, the purpose of use, and the name or title of the person responsible for managing the personal information, or when this information is made easily accessible by the user.
Article 5 (Disclosure of Personal Information)
When requested by the user to disclose personal information, the Company will disclose the same to the user without delay. However, the Company may not disclose all or part of the personal information if such disclosure would result in any of the following, and in such cases, the user will be promptly notified. A fee of 1,000 yen per disclosure request will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.
(1) When there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the user or a third party;
(2) When there is a risk of significant hindrance to the proper execution of the Company's business; and
(3) When such disclosure would violate other laws or regulations.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, history and characteristics information etc. that does not constitute personal information will not, in principle, be disclosed.
Article 6 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)
If a user's personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user may request the Company to correct or delete the personal information according to the procedures prescribed by the Company.
If the Company deems it necessary to respond to such requests, it will correct or delete the relevant personal information without delay and notify the user thereof.
Article 7 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)
If the user requests the suspension or deletion of the use of personal information (hereinafter referred to as "suspension of use") due to the personal information being handled beyond the scope of the intended purpose or obtained by improper means, the Company will promptly conduct the necessary investigation, suspend the use of such personal information based on the results, and notify the user thereof. However, if the suspension of use involves a large cost or is otherwise difficult to implement, and if alternative measures can be taken to protect the user's rights and interests, the Company will take such alternative measures.
Article 8 (Changes to this Policy)
The contents of this Policy may be changed without notifying the users.
Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised versions of this Policy will take effect when posted on this website.
